Adapted from Martina Cole’s best selling novel, The Take is a gritty drama about betrayal, lies and bloody crime. Just out of prison Freddie has everything he wants; contacts, money and his growing crime empire. But as the years pass by Freddie watches as his cousin Jimmy eclipses him and achieves everything that he didn’t; love, marriage and respect. For revenge Freddie brutally rapes Jimmy’s wife Maggie who then becomes pregnant with Freddie’s child. The web of lies around the family becomes thicker and ends in the ultimate tragedy.
